barb i live in a apartment in liverpool NY where we have the same problem but the mold started in the bathroom and is now spreding thru the whole apartment .... our landlord refuses to fix it or let us out of our lease enless we let them keep security and pay thee mos. rent ! i am in the mist of looking into what to do to break the lease black mold is a big health issue and cant cause long term health trouble a friend of my mothers is on 24 hour oxygen due to black mold ... i would do everything you can to get out of your lease and wish you the best of luck .. because i know we have been going back and forth about this for mos. on end now ...
