The cc is ALREADY deducted from the check the lawyer
received. Therefore, you still should get 60% of the 274,000
($164400)less the expenses. The lawyers AGREED to cc when
they signed up for the 7th. The lawyers are still getting
40%, it is just split between your attorney and the cc.
$274,000.00 Settlement
$(18,000.00) Less CC
$256,000.00 Check from 7th
$164,400.00 60% of Settlement
$91,600.00 Balance to lawyer
$256,000.00
Send him an email or note saying this is your understanding.
My attorney was vague as well, so I sent him an email
breaking it down. I was prepared for a disagreement but he
had always understood and I was just nervous. I receieved the
correct amount. Good luck.
