After the 1996 decision by the US Supreme Court that FDA
could not regulate tobacco as a drug, unless congress
provided them with that privelaged, has come full circle
from opposition suit, and major repulican contributions, to
welcoming the regulation. Source USA Today. Seems growers
are trying to get into other markets as prices are being
set. Why would any business prefer goverment control,
unless it becomes profitable by shutting down the
competition.
