Re: Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker

I am living in Australia and have been suffering with what is thought
to be chronic fatique syndrome folllowing a bacterial infection in
Indonesia about 4 years ago- I have had gastro intestinal symptoms and
headaches ever since- and in the past year developed muscle pain in my
neck and sleep disturbance problems. In desperation, I have recently
asked my GP to put me onto cholestyramine CSM after resading about the
work of Dr Ritchie Shoemaker on line. For obvious reasons I cannot be
treated by him. I have been on the CSM for nearly a week and after a
bad first few days of headahes and nausea and itching, things seem to
be settling. I do feel very fatigued but I read in the Dr's literature
that this is usual when you start on the CSM. Will these reactions go
away?
I was wondering if anyone could help me with information on the
treatment regime- how long I am likely to need to be on the CSM?
Do I take 3 x 4g packs a day?
How long before I might start feeling better if the CSM is going to
work for me?
Should I have started on the Actos?
I think my headaches are fee
Thanks in anticipation.
