They need to VENT TO THE OUTSIDE if you do agree to have
your home ozoned. They will tell you it is safe. But there
have been many problems with ozone and it is NOT
recommended anywhere except on the web pages marketing
these machines or restoration sites. Visit EPA/OZONE,
Airnow, indoor air quality/ozone,lungs/ozone,Ozone can ruin
the seal on double pane windows, oxidizes metals that will
never be the same after. In studies with carpet/pad exposed
to OZONE showed that carpet can out gas for up to 3 years
after exposure. Look up C. Weschler and W. Nazzaroff
studies with Ozone and Indoor Air Quality.
OZONE is an extreme lung irritant and will damage the
lining of your lungs. You can not smell anything while
ozone is running. You will not be able to smell the
chemicals or the smoke and hardly the ozone which smells
like mild bleach or hydrogen peroxide. The RESTORATION
companies will use DEODERIZORS which are TOXIC petrol
CHEMICALS. DO NOT let them use any of those in your
precious clean home. They put chemicals in deoderizors
which dissengage your ability to smell! Shocking but TRUE.
Ozone stops you from being able to smell also. You will
have "a sick house" if you let them use chemicals and ozone
in your home for SMOKE damage or any other odor damage. You
need to STRIP OUT your home to the studs possibly and
rebuild with same.
Insist that the SMOKE odor damage is torn out rather than
using toxic chemicals in your home which will NOT COME OUT.
You have the right to know what they are using and you have
the right to ask for NO CHEMICALS to be introduced into
your home. Don't use chemical sponges either. All the smoke
products they use are TOXIC chemicals that will leave

Be smart and demand that NO chemicals are used in your home
after a fire. NONE. No OZONE NO CHEMICALS.
