"Ignorant IDIOTS wrote..." The title of your name for
posting a response was definitely appropriate. :-)
Again and as usual, you hide behind your computer without
identifying yourself and post responses to issues that you
have obviously not read or heard about or done your
research. Wake up and meet your neighbors! You have also
not emailed me privately as so many WITH mold problems in Il
Villagio have done after reading these posts... so it is
apparent that you are the minority.
Just a little tip that your so called professional may not
have told you, you can't just remediate ONE UNIT, the ENTIRE
building must be fixed. Now, if you would like to fork over
a few million dollars for that to be done, then please do
so, mail the check to unit 1404, and I will be more than
happy to accept your donation.
So sorry about your luck but I am NOT going away.
In response to your other statements...
"Mold happens in Florida"
You are brilliant! I'm sure it happens in Ohio, Montana,
California...MOLD HAPPENS ANYWHERE THERE IS A MOISTURE
PROBLEM. Anyone know if there is mold in places like
Antarctica? It grows excessively and out of control and
starts affecting people's health and property values when
there are building constuction and design defects.
"These are all bottom floor units that the sprinklers were
positioned to, this is the reason for the mold."
The sprinklers just made the bottom floors worse. You think
mold has boundaries? I've seen MANY 2nd floor units with
SEVERE mold problems and so have the experts. You are
misinformed, it is not the sole reason for the mold and I
have documentation for that. It's not even worth my time to
repost what has already been written and what has already
been publically explained by the experts. Call one of them
yourself--get the numbers and info from the Property Manager.
"It is harmless and not toxic."
Can you post a copy of your inspection and professional
legal opinion regarding the mold and moisture situation so
that we may all benefit from such evidence?
"You are ruining the value of 400+ unit owners property."
No, the mold is ruining the value. Ignoring the problem
will ruin the value. Oh, and the neighborly love from
a "certain" owner is overwhelming---maybe you should
disclose your unit number so that all of the potential
buyers will want to buy the neighboring units in your
building. I bet they could even increase the selling price
just for being your neighbor!
"You should have had your unit remedied with a company of
your choice"
It wouldn't matter. The BUILDING needs to be fixed. It
does no good to do one unit. It won't solve the problem.
"You would have never known had the developer not had DRI
RITE come out"
It is obvious that you don't know me or what companies I
have consulted. Even a fool could see the microbial growth
on the walls.
"Perhaps you do have toxic mold that is causing you to act
like a crazed idiot"
If you believe that is the case, don't you want to protect
yourself and your family from it? I believe that toxic mold
can also cause people to become ignorant because they are
obsessed over property values and special assessments
instead of resolving the real problem.
"Maybe you should rent your unit out and move if this is a
problem for you."
Are you implying that I should make this someone else's
problem and cause someone else to be sick from the mold?
Now that's not a very ethical or nice thing to do to
someone.
"The community would sure appreciate it."
Speak for yourself and your fan club of one. Sorry to
disappoint you. I think the "community" was appreciative
that someone forced the HOA to address the issue which was
blatently OBVIOUS by the number of concerned homeowners that
showed up at the last board meeting. If you are feeling
left out, I will be happy to share my "thank you cards" with
you. I'll even throw in a loaf of moldy bread so that you
can feel included.
"Good luck with your witchhunt."
Thanks! If you are referring to the mold, I don't need
luck...just science and common sense.
(fyi-The only witch I know in here has also had a problem
with mold and is trying to COVER up the problem and IGNORE
it.)
