Re: BACTERIA, FUNGUS, WORKPLACE EXPOSURE ,DISEASE and ILLNES

    Posted by S T on 9/15/04

MY SON WAS WORKING IN A BIOLAB... EXPOSED TO OVER 20,000 MICROBES THAT
WERE DISCOVERED AND BROUGHT INTO THE LAB VIA SOIL SAMPLES AND FECES
FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD TO BE SCREENED FOR "NATURAL PESTICIDES" TO BE
USED ON ON PLANTS AND CROPS. HE THOUGHT HE HAD SEASONAL ALLERGIES..
BUT, NEVER GOT WELL. HE WAS TOLD HIS POSITION WAS BEING TERMINATED AND
JUST RECENTLY, UPON RECEIPT OF HIS EMPLOYMENT FILE, WE FIND HE WAS "FIRED".
HE WAS GIVEN 1 MONTHS SEVERANCE PAY AND NEVER THE REQUIRED BY LAW
REASON IN WRITING OR ANYTHING ELSE STATING THAT HE WAS "FIRED". THEY
KNEW HE GOT SICK AT THE LAB AND JUST WANTED HIM TO GO AWAY. HAD HE
EVEN HAD THE SMALLEST IDEA HE HAD BEEN FIRED HE COULD INDEED HAVE FILED
FOR A WRONGFUL TERMINATION SUIT. SO, AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO GET A
COPY OF HIS EMPLOYMENT FILE... 5 YEARS LATER IT COMES AFTER A SUBPOENA
FOR WORKERS COMPENSATION. HE IS NOW B-CELL DEFICIENT AND HAS TO HAVE
IV IMMUNOGLOBULIN INFUSIONS EVERY 4 WEEKS FOR, AS HE WAS TOLD, A
MINIMUM OF 6 YEARS AND POSSIBLE LIFE. IT WAS IN LATE '03 HE FOUND OUT HE
HAS HISTOPLASMOSIS FROM HISTOPLASMA CAPSULATUM... THIS FUNGI COMES
FROM SOIL AND BIRD DROPPINGS AND IS NOT ENDEMIC TO THIS AREA. THE
HISTOPLASMOSIS HAS DISSEMINATED. , HE IS FINDING OUT HE HAS POSITIVE IgG
LEVELS OF MORE THAN ONE FUNGUS THAT WAS IN THIS LAB AND HIGH POSITIVE
TO 3 OTHERS. ALSO, HE WAS WORKING WITH BACILLUS SUBTILIS... THIS IS SHOWN
TO CAUSE SEVERE RHINITIS. HE THOUGHT HE JUST HAD SEASONAL ALLERGIES AND
ENDED UP HAVING SINUS SURGERY AND REPAIR OF A DEVIATED SEPTUM. WE
THOUGHT THIS WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE INFECTIONS HE WAS HAVING. HE WENT
BACK TO WORK AFTER THIS SURGERY AND NOT LONG AFTER IS WHEN HE WAS
TOLD HIS POSITION WAS TERMINATED. THE PURPOSE FOR MY POST IS BECAUSE
THERE WERE 11 OTHERS WORKING AT THIS LAB WHO WERE SICK AS WELL... WE
NEED TO KNOW IF THEY ARE STILL SICK. WE HAD TO GO OUTSIDE OF THIS AREA
TO THE MAYO CLINIC TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE HISTOPLASMOSIS. HE, THIS YEAR
HAD TO GO TO A FUNGAL EXPERT WHO DEALS WITH MOLDS, THIS IS WHERE HE
FOUND OUT ABOUT THE IgG LEVELS IN HIS BLOOD.

SO, EXCUSE ME MARY, BUT WITH ALL DUE RESPECT.... I THINK YOUR REPLY WAS A
LITTLE SHORT OF JUST PLAIN MEAN. MY SON HAS GONE THROUGH PURE HELL
FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS... I DON'T THINK THIS IS STUPID AT ALL. MICROBES ARE
VERY DANGEROUS. AND WHILE I AM AT IT... HAVEN'T YOU WONDERED WHY
DISEASES THAT HAVE LONG AGO BEEN BLOTTED OUT ( SO TO SPEAK ) ARE COMING
BACK AGAIN? NOT TO MENTION THERE ARE MORE AND MORE UNEXPLAINED
ILLNESS? WELL, DON'T YOU EVER WONDER WHY? COULD IT BE FROM THE USE OF
SO CALLED BIOTECHNOLOGY? PEOPLE ARE WORKING WITH BACTERIA AND FUNGUS
THAT ARE KNOWN CAUSES OF DISEASES. THEY ARE BEING USED ON OUR CROPS,
OUR FOOD SOURCES . HMMMM... IF THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM, THEN WHY ALL THE
CONCERN ABOUT BIO-WEAPONS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES? WHEN MY SON
STARTED WORKING AT THIS LAB HE WAS EXCITED, BECAUSE HE THOUGHT HE WAS
GOING TO BE A LITTLE PART OF SOMETHING TO HELP ERADICATE INSECTS FROM
PLANTS... EVEN WIPE OUT MOSQUITO'S. WHAT HAS IT DONE TO HIM.. HIS
WANTING TO HELP MANKIND ALL OVER THE WORLD HAS SHORTENED HIS LIFE...
HIS WIFE HAS HAD TO SUPPORT THE ENTIRE FAMILY AND HIS DEGREE IN SCIENCE
WITH A MAJOR IN BIOLOGY AND A MINOR IN CHEMISTRY HAS GOT HIM THIS? SO
EXCUSE ME MARY.... IF I DON'T THINK YOUR RESPONSE TO MY POST WAS
    HUMEROUS.
